Develop a Consciousness of Success

The word “consciousness” could be a little confusing, so I start by saying that it means to be aware, to know, to be certain of something true. So, to develop a consciousness of success, we have to be aware, to know that it is our birthright to be successful in all areas or our lives. If we start by focusing on the truth, then we can build this consciousness from there.

Throughout the years I have learned that I have to be receptive to success if I want to attract success in my life. For many years I lived in ignorance by using language of lack and limitation and by allowing my mind to accept thoughts of fear, doubt and insecurity. I did not know that my own thoughts, words and actions were creating blocks to my success. I am forever grateful for the so many amazing teachers and authors of books that have helped me expand my consciousness of success.

My attitude is totally different now. I am very respectful of the law of cause and effect. I understand that I am creating my reality every day by the quality of my consciousness. During the day I release any thoughts that are opposite to success and I use affirmations constantly. I am now conscious of the power of the law of magnetism or the law of attraction. Because I have chosen to attract success in all areas of my life, I focus on thoughts and use language of success. I have come to understand that there is a divine power within me that is all caring and is guiding me to be successful. I also seek to be around positive and successful people. I can clearly say that due to the effort and commitment I have invested in developing a prosperity consciousness, I am enjoying true success in all aspects of my life. And when I am faced with challenges, I remain strong and committed to the principles of success.

Here are some tips that can help you to develop a consciousness of success:

Embrace Your Divine Presence within: As you recognize that this Presence is all knowing and all powerful and wants your success, you open your heart and mind to His wisdom and to allow His loving guidance in all areas of your life.

Be Receptive: As a recipient of good things coming into your life, you must be willing to let go of any blocks that might block the flow, like unworthiness or beliefs in lack and limitation. You must be an open receptacle of God’s blessings.

Give thanks in advance: Have a positive expectation of what is yet to come: “I am so happy and grateful now that …” (for example: I have a new job)

Send the right vibration: Commit to sending the right vibration from your transmission tower: Your thoughts, words and actions. Remember that as you put the effort to transmit the highest vibration, you will be pleased with the results.

On October 7th I am going to start an 8-wk Success Course, “Developing a SUCCESS Mindset”, based on the teachings of John Randolph Price, a very respected teacher. He shares that we are continually creating our world by our states of consciousness and shows us a proven method to manifest success. Click here to REGISTER.

Five Key Principles to Develop a Prosperity Consciousness

To read this month’s Love in Action Newsletter, click here

Prosperity consciousness is a topic that it is important to pay attention to. What it means is to focus on abundance instead of lack. Many times, we accept thoughts in our mind or use language that speak of scarcity, without even realizing that we are limiting what want to attract. Remember, “What you focus on you attract.” This principle applies to any area of your life, including health, relationships, work, and well-being.

The secret about developing a prosperity consciousness is to pay attention, to be attentive to your attitude, your thoughts and your words. Next time you notice that you are focusing on lack, make the shift right away and change the direction of your energy. Everything is energy and the waves of your thoughts and words are traveling throughout space like a transmission tower and what will come back to you will be according to what you sent out. If you have the attitude of “I can, I will”, and you send out positive thoughts and a language of abundance, affirming that plenty of opportunities are coming your way and doors are opening for you, then the response coming back to you has to match your message and you will be pleased with what you will be receiving.

Here are Five Key Principles to Develop Prosperity Consciousness:

  1. Be the Master of your Mind
This quote says it clearly: “The mind is everything, what you think, you become.” Pay attention to the quality of your thoughts. The best way to do this, is to pay attention to your emotions because they are interrelated. When you are happy, positive, hopeful, trusting, your thoughts are matching that attitude and the opposite is true too.
    G
  2. Surround yourself with people that have a prosperity mindset
Give yourself the gift to be around people or environments that foster prosperity. You know those people who always seem positive and see the glass as half-full instead of half-empty. Find them and start spending time with them. Attitudes rub off.
    G
  3.  Study prosperity principles
My mentor Les Brown used to say, “when you are in the picture, you cannot see the frame.” This means that if we keep thinking with the thoughts that created the challenge, we are not able to see the solution. This is why need someone with clarity to help us see what is in our minds so we can change it. Participating in prosperity programs, classes, or reading books or watching videos can help us see what we need to change, then we are empowered and can take action based on what we have learned.
    G
  4. Practice Gratitude
Practicing gratitude is one of the most powerful and widely recognized tools for creating abundance, happiness, and improving one’s overall well-being. According to Oprah Winfrey, “If you look at what you have in life, you will always have more. If you look at what you don’t have in life, you will never have enough.” One way to practice this is to create a “Gratitude Journal” and every day write down ten things, people, situations that you are grateful.
    G
  5. Repeat Daily Abundance Affirmations
The use of positive affirmations can help you dissolve any limiting beliefs or habits hidden in your subconscious mind, and will improve your ability to attract what you really desire. Affirmations can help to shift your mentality from scarcity to abundance.

I just started an 8-wk prosperity course based on the teachings of John Randolph Price, a very respected teacher: THE 40-DAY PROSPERITY PLAN: How to realize abundant prosperity in your life and business. In my opinion everyone should take this program. The reason is that it will not only transform your own life, but also it will help in the expansion of the prosperity consciousness of the planet, which is very much needed. Click here to REGISTER.

Expand Your Consciousness

To read this month’s Love in Action Newsletter, click here

Expanding your consciousness sounds like a fancy idea and what it really means is to be aware of your language, your thoughts, your actions, in summary, your attitude. It is to be aware of how you respond to life situations and to be willing to learn what they are really trying to teach you. It means to be more conscious of your behavior.

We expand our consciousness when we respond to people and life challenges with calmness and take responsibility in trying to understand why we attracted the experience into our life, so we can make changes.

We expand our consciousness when, instead of choosing to be angry, or judgmental, or jealous, or doubtful, we choose to be calm, to understand, to be happy for the fortune of others and to trust.

We contract our energy when we find fault in others, or blame others, or play victim or are unkind to others. This is why we have to pay attention, observe ourselves and when we notice that instead of expanding our consciousness, we are constricting it, that’s when we must take action and shift our energy.

Here are some ways that can help you expand your consciousness:

  • Meditate. Take time to be in silence with God, to pray, to deepen your devotion.
  • Journal your feelings so you are able to release any trapped energy of anger, or fear or stress.
  • Always do your best. In the process you will become a better person.
  • Do not identify with your mistakes. You are not your mistakes. You are a child of God. Learn from them and be willing to change and to do what is right.
  • Trust in yourself and in your God given talents and abilities. This will help you to feel self-confident and access your inner power.
  • Focus on love. At the end of the day, ask yourself, have I left anyone out of my heart today? If you did, ask God to help you open your heart to forgive and let him/her in. Go to sleep with a peaceful heart.
  • Keep a positive attitude. This includes being kind to others, praising others, focusing on the solution and not on the problem, seeing the positive side in everything and everyone, being of service to others, and having compassion.

I leave you with this quote:happiness cannot be traveled to, owned, earned, worn or consumed. Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace, and gratitude.” -Denis Waitley

Turn on the Lamp of Your Heart

To read this month’s Love in Action Newsletter, click here

Recently I heard someone using this amazing phrase to motivate us to turn on the light from within: “Turn on the Lamp of Your Heart.” Sometimes we do not even realize that we are living in darkness. Our hearts close to the light when we gossip, or when we criticize others or ourselves, or when we feel guilty or are not able to forgive ourselves for our past mistakes. There are so many ways that we turn off our internal light without realizing that we are doing it.

The good news is that it is never too late to turn on the lamp of our hearts. In fact, any moment it is a good moment to radiate our light that is palpitating from within. We just have to remember to turn it on. Anytime that we are kind, generous, patient, forgiving, peaceful, joyful, we are sharing our light with others.

The secret to shine your light from within is to be conscious of your attitude. Your thoughts, your words and your deeds are either turning the lamp of your heart off or on. Can you image how our world would be if we all decided to take responsibility and make the conscious decision, moment to moment to turn our light on. Sometimes we tend to believe that this is the responsibility of others and we find excuses to behave in ways that are not allowing our light to shine through.

I invite you to pay attention to your interactions with others and how you are making the conscious decision to turn on the lamp of your heart. Do your best to radiate your light and you will see how you will impact those around you and the world as a whole. Here are some ideas on how to do it:

Accept everyone as they are. You will end up having more compassion and acceptance of yourself.

Remind yourself that your true essence is love. What emanates from your heart when is open, is divine love because you were made in God’s image and likeness.

Judge no-one, even yourself. We are all here to learn and to overcome the barriers to love.

Be willing to see others and yourself with the eyes of God. With love and compassion all barriers between us will be dissolved.

Receive spiritual food. Attend Sunday services, or read spiritual books or listen and watch inspiring spiritual messages. This way you fill your heart and mind with divine truth.

I leave you with my favorite bible’s message:Love is patient, love is kind. Love does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.” – 1 Corinthians 13:4-8

Affirm: I rejoice as I turn on the lamp of my heart

Humbleness Opens Our Heart

To read this month’s Love in Action Newsletter, click here

“The true meaning of humility is knowing that the personal self is a vehicle of a Higher Power.” -Sir John Templeton

When I look back at my life I can see clearly a progressive desire in me to not have to be right or control people, things or situations and instead to let go and choose to be peaceful. There have been plenty of times in my life when I allowed my ego or my personality to seek control, to want to be right and even to feel superior. Fortunately, the more I understand that there is a Higher Power that wants to support me, the more I want to practice humbleness, and the easier my life gets.

It is when we think that we have to do everything by ourselves, without asking for Higher divine guidance, that we make mistakes and get tired of experiencing things not working out in our lives. When we think that we have to control external circumstances or people, it is when we have an invitation to practice humbleness.

The practice of humbleness, among many benefits, opens our hearts to consider other ideas or options and specially to be willing to become a vehicle of God’s love in this world. Everyone benefits when we step into our true purpose, which is to be channels of divine love. If every day we consciously decide to practice humbleness and open our hearts to God’s guidance and love, little by little we become a mighty vehicle of our Higher Power.

Here are some tips on how to practice humbleness:

  • Meditate regularly. Your consistent practice will give you the opportunity to calm your mind and your emotions.
  • Give thanks continuously. For everything and to everyone give thanks. Live in a spirit of gratitude.
  • Pray and ask for divine guidance. Praying for ourselves and for others helps us to deepen our devotion.
  • Praise others and recognize their strengths. Always look for the positive in others and in yourself.
  • Be a good listener. Avoid talking about yourself. Let others share about their life experiences.
  • Do sincere frequent introspections. Be willing to recognize limiting habits and to change them to positive ones.
  • Be willing to recognize your mistakes. Accept your part on it and apologize when you make a mistake.
  • Treat everyone with respect and dignity. Be compassionate and kind.
  • Be willing to help others. Service is the greatest way to practice humbleness because we stop focusing on ourselves to help others.
  • Take responsibility for your life experiences. Have the humbleness to remember that life challenges help you to grow and to become a better person. Do no try to change people or circumstances, avoid blaming others or playing victim and instead do your best to change from within.

Above all, remember that in the eyes of God we are exactly the same, created in His image and likeliness.

Affirm: Humbleness opens my heart

Turn on the Light

To read this month’s Love in Action Newsletter, click here

In my coaching practice I ask people what they usually do when they are in a dark room. Without exception

everyone says, I look for the switch to turn on the light. I ask them, do you fight with the dark room because it is dark? They always respond, of course not.

And is it not what life invites us to do when we are faced with challenges, doubt, anxiety, fear, or guilt? To turn on the light instead of fighting the problems? The challenge is that many times we automatically want to find someone to blame or point the finger, or perhaps we feel sorry for ourselves, thinking that we are victims of people or circumstances. What life is inviting us to do at that moment is to focus on the solution and not the problem. And the good news is that every challenge in life has a solution. Life invites us to see the glass half full instead of half empty (being positive versus being negative). Life is inviting us to respond with courage, determination, faith and patience that a solution is on its way to us.

We are also so used to analyzing problems from every angle and resisting accepting what is. Every experience in life brings a lesson and if we go within we can find out what it is. Trying to change others or control others wishing for them to behave differently is not the lesson. The lesson is having the humility to see our part and being willing to change the aspects in us that are creating challenges, so we can live more in harmony with others and within.

Here are some tips on how to turn on the light:

  • Notice your energy during the day and if you find yourself agitated, anxious, or fearful, turn within and choose at to let go of all those emotions and replace them with the energy of love.
  • Affirm: I am peace, I feel peace
  • Focus on the solution. Remember that every challenge in life has a solution. You just have to be determined to be open to receive the answer.
  • Accept what is. Always do your best and then surrender the rest to God and accept what is.
  • Be willing to change. Do no try to change the circumstance, instead do your best to change from within.
  • Ask for divine guidance and trust that you will be guided in the right direction
  • Focus on expressing positive qualities: Love, peace, joy, compassion, forgiveness, kindness, and generosity

Affirm: I turn on the light of love, joy and wisdom from within

Embrace the Power of Silence

To read this month’s Love in Action Newsletter, click here

There is so much that goes on every day around us that sometimes we do not realize that our mind gets so use to the constant noise that when we sit down to meditate or to be in silence, it rebels and does whatever it can to disturb us from a moment of silence.

This is when we have to use our will power to not allow our mind to detract us from such an important moment to declutter our mind. This is when we have to be strong and to remember that as we give ourselves the gift of silence and quite time, we give our mind, body and soul a dose of tranquility, which will end up impacting all areas of our lives. A more relaxed mind can help us think better, come up with wise solutions, think before we speak, be solution oriented and bring more harmony into every area of our life.

Many years ago, it was difficult for me to sit down and enjoy the moment and it almost felt intimidating to be in silence. Then, I decided to start meditating, even if it was for just a few minutes. To my surprise, I started to develop a yearning for doing it longer and I really learned to enjoy the silence. Today I realize that it took that initial step of trying something new and then being willing to be consistent, even if was for a short period of time. If you do not have the practice yet, I invite you to give meditation a chance to become part of your life. You will be blessed by all the benefits that It will bring into your life.

You can also take time in the morning, during the day, or in the evening, to make room for moments to be in silence. Here are some ideas:

  • Go for a walk, without a phone, and just enjoy the moment
  • Sit and read a scriptural passage and then close your eyes and reflect on the message
  • Focus on your breathing and just observe as it goes in and out, without controlling it
  • Steer at a picture of a Saint or someone Holy and then close your eyes and feel His/Her presence enveloping you
  • Sit in a park bench and enjoy watching the scenery and nature around you
  • Close your eyes and visualize yourself sitting by a lake enjoying the stillness of the moment

Affirm: Every day I embrace the power of silence

What You Focus on Expands

I recently saw a message that read: “Negative thinking can never make your life positive.” This is so true because what we think about, what we focus on, expands. We attract that which we give our energy with our thoughts, our words and our attitude.  Every day we have a choice to focus on what will bring us happiness. This is what Oprah Winfrey says about this topic: “What you focus on expands, and when you focus on the goodness in your life, you create more of it. Opportunities, relationships, even money flowed my way when I learned to be grateful no matter what happened in my life.”

The secret is in being conscious about our attitude, about seeing the glass half full and knowing that there is always a solution to every problem. Yesterday I had the opportunity to practice this with an experience that I had. I was at Ananda Village and without realizing I parked in an area where there was a lot of mud. I am in the process of moving to a new home and I went into the home to do a few things I needed to do. Then, when the time came for me to leave, I got into my car and to my surprise the wheels were totally trapped in the mud. A friend saw what was happening and got out of his truck to try to help me. He tried going in reverse and the car moved a few inches but then it slipped to the side near a tree, so close that it was almost touching the tree. My friend said, don’t worry, let’s call someone to bring a tractor.

It was interesting how I was able to remain calm and have faith that nothing was going to happened to the car. I focused on a positive outcome, even though I did not have a clue how the tractor was going to move the car sideways without it getting scratched.

While we waited for the tractor, my friend came with his two lovely kids, Jay and Tulsi. I asked them if they wanted to see the inside of the new house and they were all excited. Being with those kids at that moment was a gift from heaven. Then when the tractor came we were all so curious about how this episode was going to turn out. My friend hooked a cable from my car to the tractor and then, like a feather, the car was moved to the side without it being scratched. Then the tractor moved the car in reverse and place it right there where there was no mud. The kids and I really had our mouth quite open. I really believe that the reason everything turned out so perfectly well is because I did not panic and I focused on a good final outcome.

I invite you to set up the intention to observe yourself closely and when you are tempted to focus on negativity, immediately shift your energy and focus on the goodness in your life. You can reframe your story using “The Pivoting Process”:

Step 1: This is not what I want
I state here what I want to let go – Right now I let go of …. Example: “Feeling fearful”
Step 2: What is it that I want?
I ask myself what I want – What I want is …. Example: “To feel confident”
Step 3: Create an affirmation of what I want …. Example: “I feel confident that this situation is going to turn out successfully

Affirm: I focus on the goodness in my life

Give Your Very Best

To read this month’s Love in Action Newsletter, click here

The year 2021 just started and now we have the opportunity to start a new beginning. As I was thinking about what this means to me, I was reminded that if each one of us sincerely gives our very best, then collectively we create a better world. Giving our very best invites us to be a constant expression of kindness, caring, honesty, generosity, forgiveness, joy, compassion and all the qualities that demonstrate the love of our hearts. The secret is that we have to be willing to put the effort and not to fall into the opposite behaviors. This new year gives us the opportunity to start clean slate.

As we commit to being consistent in the expression of these qualities, the wonderful news is that not only we impact our external world, but also, we are the ones that benefit the most. Remember, the law of cause and effect is working all the time. What you put out, comes back to you. Give your very best and the universe will return it back to you.

Giving our very best also means that when life hits us with challenges, we have the choice to respond with wisdom and courage instead of fear, doubt, guilt, blame or judgement. We must be willing to examine each situation and see what is the lesson that it’s trying to teach us. It could be forgiveness, or acceptance, maybe setting up boundaries with respect, or even deeper faith. What’s important is that there is a lesson behind the experience, then there is homework to do. It is like being in the university of life, which comes with studying and assignments. The more we are willing to do our part, the more we will be able to enjoy a harmonious life filled with love, peace and joy.

To support yourself in giving your very best, here are some ideas on how you can do it:

  • Be willing to take action. It has been said that the best way to let go of a negative habit is by not giving it energy and by replacing it with a good new habit.
  • Develop your faith. Have a constant relationship with your Higher Power. Become strong like an oak tree. Storms come and go and it remains untouched.
  • Feed yourself with spiritual food. Read or listen or watch spiritual inspiration to keep you centered and focused.
  • Seek the company of positive people. Surround yourself around people that are committed to their own path.
  • Journal and honor your emotions. Write down your feelings and let them go. Then focus in creating a new experience.
  • Focus on gratitude. Every time you are tempted to complain about something, think of ten things you are grateful for.
  • Be diligent about the energy you are sending out into the world. Observe your thoughts, watch your language and pay attention to your attitude. They are creating your daily reality.
  • Set up positive intentions. Wake up each morning affirming: Today I will give my very best. YES, I can!

All these ideas above are ways to invite yourself to give your very best. The rest is the dominion of the Universe. Have faith that at the end everything will work out for your highest good. You do your part and God takes care of the rest.

Affirm: I give my very best every day

I wish you have a very blessed new year,

Let your Light Shine

To read this month’s Love in Action Newsletter, click here

The year 2020 has given us the opportunity to share with others all those good aspects of ourselves, basically to let our light shine. Each one of us has aspects of our personality that shines. For example, some of us are good at listening to others, others love to pray, and some others are excellent at encouraging or motivating others. There is no one who does not have something to offer and share with humanity. Even a baby is sharing his sweetness and joy with those around him.

Now, more than ever it’s important to think of our qualities and have a committed intention to share them with humanity. The wonderful news is that the more we share of ourselves, the more we grow and the more we realize how important is to have a spirit of service towards humanity. It is actually a wonderful opportunity to let go of our own worries and focus on helping and uplifting others. If we think about those serving in hospitals, clinics and the like, these are truly heroes, who are committed to saving lives. We all have a part to play in this pandemic. The more we focus on helping others in whatever capacity we are able to do it, the more we are going to feel that we are in this together and we will be able to pull through as conquerors.

Here are some ideas on how you can let your light shine:

  • Make a phone call: Just calling someone to ask how they are doing gives that person the feeling that someone cares.
  • Surprise a neighbor with a Christmas gift. It could be a dish prepared by you.
  • Offer financially support, if you are able. Some of us might be in a financial position that permits us to offer a monetary gift to someone who is hurting financially.
  • Pray for others. This not only helps us increase our faith, it also makes us feel connected in brotherhood.
  • Listen when someone needs to release their pain or worries. You can also offer to pray for them or recommend a book to read.
  • Offer to do an errand. This is especially helpful for those who might be ill or not able to go out.
  • Be kind to others. Kindness is the most powerful way to demonstrate our love.
  • Smile. We never know how a genuine smile can bring hope to people.
  • Radiate love everywhere you go. We can become beacons of light and consciously and purposely share our love with others. It has been said that the channel is blessed by what runs through it.

All these ideas above are opportunities to let your light shine. It is not that difficult. If everyone of us is really committed to doing it, then we will experience true brotherhood, which is how we will be able to overcome the pandemic and any challenge that might come our way.

Affirm: I let my light shine
